OUR TEAM
Jennifer Hawn
I pride myself on giving truthful, realistic advice and strategies that cost-effectively meet your needs. Ensuring that my clients leave a meeting with me feeling empowered is paramount.
I’m proud to serve you as an associate lawyer with Spero Law.
“I strive to be approachable, open-minded, and engaging so that my clients feel heard. I do my best to explain your legal rights and options in a manner that is easy to understand and takes away the mystery that can surround the law. ”
How I Work
I have extensive litigation experience and have acted on behalf of both Plaintiffs and Defendants in a wide range of cases. I enjoy both the courtroom aspect of litigation and the drafting work that goes into perfecting and refining a case.
I endeavour to be a problem-solver and offer solutions that will keep people out of a courtroom.
In particular, I relish drafting employment contracts and workplace policies that will offer peace of mind to my business clients.
Before I ever became a lawyer, I worked as a field-hand, a babysitter, a retail clerk, a waitress, and a receptionist. I recognize the value of people's work, no matter their occupation.
My Practice
I practice both employee and employer-side employment law. My practice includes wrongful dismissal, professional disciplinary matters, and workplace investigation matters. I particularly enjoy reviewing and drafting employment contracts and workplace policies.
In addition, I love litigating contract disputes.
I practice human rights law, both bringing and defending applications before the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.
Community
I am a member of Autism Ontario (London Chapter). As a mother of an autistic child, I steadfastly advocate for inclusiveness and diversity.
I have served as a Board Trustee for the Middlesex Law Association.
